XP 네트워크 접속 제한 풀기

윈도우 서비스팩2 부터 웜의 전파 속도를 줄이기 위해 인터넷 접속 및 외부 접근을 10개 이하로 제한다. 이런 제한은 홈페이지 접속할 때에는 잘 모르지만 P2P 같은 파일 공유 프로그램을 사용할때에 속도가 많이 줄어든다. 이러한 제한을 없애려면 아래 링크에서(또는 첨부파일) 패치를 다운로드해서 다음과 같이 설정해주면 된다.

다운로드한 파일의 압축을 푼 다음 실행시키면 콘솔창이 뜨면서 아래와 같은 메시지가 나타난다.

이 메시지에서 'C' 키를 누르면 접속 제한 수를 다시 설정할수 있고 'U' 키를 누르면 제한이 아예 없어지게 된다. 둘 중 아무거나 누른다. 만약 'C' 키를 눌렀다면 아래와 같이 메시지가 뜬다.

여기서 자기가 설정하고 싶은 값을 입력한다. 10에서 16777214까지 입력할 수 있다. 넉넉하게 10000 정도를 입력하면 무난할 것이다. 그냥 예전 설정대로 돌아가고 싶다면 'ECS' 키를 누르면 된다.
값을 입력하면 다음과 같은 경고메시지가 뜬다. 얼추 살펴보면 웜이 빨리 전파될 수 있다는 뜻인 것 같다.

이제 'C' 키를 누르면 설정이 저장된다.
이때 주의할 점은 모든 작업을 마친 후에 외부 프로그램에 의해 운영체제가 변경되었으니 복구할 것인지를 자동으로 물어보면 반드시 ‘취소’를 선택해서 설정한 값을 그대로 유지해야한다.
